Emma only started racing triathlon in April 2017 but had always swam for a club from the age of 8.

Her first triathlon was the West Lancashire Triathlon in which she won her age group (Under 20’s). After this, she went on to compete in another few races in 2017 where she also won her age group.

After a long and hard off season training for 2018, she always had her heart set on qualifying for the GB age group team but always expected to have a few years before she'd be able to qualify. In May 2018, she finished 2nd in the National Championships and secured her place with the GB age-group team and she qualified for the 2019 European Championships in Kazan.

In July 2018, she competed in the Redcar Triathlon which was a qualifier for the World Championships 2019. After battling with the storm on the North East Coast, an extremely challenging and freezing North Sea swim and a tough bike course fighting with 50mph winds, she finished 3rdwhich meant she had qualified for the 2019 World Championships in Switzerland.

Her objectives for the upcoming 2019 season is to have a National Championships title and a podium finish at the European and World Championships. Of course, this doesn’t come without hard work.

Some of her 2018 Results:

  • West Lancashire Triathlon - 1st Under 20s Female

  • Mold Triathlon - 1st Under 20s Female

  • Southport National Championships - 2nd Under 20s Female
