David began competing in Triathlons in 2013 and is now entering his sixth season. He races for Cycle Specific Elite Triathlon Team.

Having always had a strong running background and competed for Welsh Schools and Wales U20s in track middle distance and also played football to a decent standard, he quite fancied a changed and decided to dive straight into the Triathlon scene in 2013 by entering Ironman Wales. He's been hooked ever since.

He's at his most competitive during his favourite events which are sprint and standard duathlons and triathlons, but has also completed 3 Ironmans and many middle distance Triathlons.

He has had some great achievements on the duathlon scene and became the European Age Group (25-29) duathlon champion in April 2016 in Kalkar, Germany. This still stands as one of his proudest days competing.

He also won the Welsh National Senior Duathlon title in Harlech in April 2017 as he added the Welsh Senior title to his European Age Group title.

Some other wins to date are the Mumbles Sprint Duathlon 2016, Margarm Park Duathlon 2017, Neyland Duathlon 2017, Saundersfoot Activity Wales Sprint Triathlon 2016.

After success in the sprint events his aim last year was to step up and give Ironman Wales a real good shot. He prepared well by coming 6th in his age category and 25th from 1200 in the well supported Outlaw Middle Distance.

In Ironman Wales, Tenby last September in atrocious weather conditions he finished in a time of 10 hours 42mins and 9th in his Age Category just missing out on Kona Qualification by a few minutes!!

Looking to the futurehe's delighted, excited and grateful to have the support from CES Sport and can’t wait for the wheels to arrive to get going. He's again looking at targeting some early season Duathlons and then stepping up through to a middle/half distance Triathlon and then targeting Ironman Wales again.

Welcome to #TeamCES David
