Adam first got into triathlon back in 2014 after watching the IM World Championships on television. He then signed up for IM Wales that was taking place 10 months later. At the time he was playing football and with 2 months till race day he tore his cruciate ligament. He managed to hobble round the course and finished in 12.45, but from that moment on, he was hooked.

After that he had to have an operation to fix his knee and didn’t resume his triathlon career until 2016. The only small thing he did in between was cycle solo self supported from John O'Groats to Lands End, taking just 8 days!

Since then he has raced lots of different events including 8 marathons and managed to qualify for the British Age Group team. He has completed IM Wales a further two times and last year got his time down to 11.05.

In October last year he broke the World Record for the fastest half marathon dressed as a gingerbread man in 1hr 24mins, which we can only imagine was a very sweaty day!

2019 has so far gone very well for Adam as he has completed several different races. He finished 6th in the Mumbles Duathlon (slightly faster than CES Sports very own Managing Director!!), 6th in the Brecon to Cardiff 44 mile ultra run and recently came 4th in the Wales Middle Distance Triathlon. He has also managed a PB at the Cardiff Bay 10k of 35min 50sec and a new PB at the Newport Marathon of 2hr 58min.

Adam's main aim this year is IM Wales and his ultimate goal is to qualify for Kona.
